Pacific East Japanese Restaurant in Cleveland

It used to be my favorite restaurant, (2 times a week favorite) Few months ago management changed and in my opinion quality and service started to decline gradually. Yesterday service was terrible we were waiting for 45 min to get our food and it was not that busy. I did not like how manager handled this situation. Instead of finding solution he chose to ignore a problem. Well all good things come to an end.

I love this place. The staff is friendly and the food is plentiful and tasty. I enjoy the neighborhood and the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Went there for lunch today. My mother had tempura, I had various sashimi. Food was excellent, and affordable. Service was friendly and attentive. Will be back.

We went there this morning and were completely disappointed! For the first time since the place has opened its door I 2010. There is a different chef, probably a different management, and not good sushi! It is very very sad, since it used to the best sushi place in Cleveland. The fish was not fresh to say the least. It is extremely upsetting!

Good for meat lovers but not good for vegetarian options. I would give five stars bity teriyaki tofu was OK OK..!!

I’ve been a costumer for 20+ years and I don’t know what happened to the Customer service here. Are used to be such an amazing sushi restaurant I would’ve recommended it before the new management here. At least I hope there’s a new management here unless their customer service went downhill. I went today to get sushi and to say I had a bad experience would be something nice to say. Save your money and do not go here you will regret it.

Probably the best sushi on the East side of Cleveland. We come here often and they have phenomenal rolls. Two stick out for me - the Manhattan roll, the Golden Dream roll. The Manhattan has a mayo based lobster sauce over it that is absolutely to die for. The golden dream has a mango sauce that is just the right amount of sweet to counter what's inside. Service is average and it sometimes takes a while to get seated because it's so small inside. The decor is nothing to write home about, but the fish is really really good.

Best sushi in Ohio! My wife and I moved to Cleveland from NYC where they have hundreds of great sushi spots. And this was amazing, even for NYC standards. We got spicy yellowtail, spicy tuna, and the Empire roll. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend stopping in here to order SUSHI!

Always love the food here, wish they had hard liquor, but everything else is great.

Pacific east is excellent for it’s convenient location and reasonable prices. The place always has customers and a great ambiance. The sushi is very fresh, and the lunch menu is perfect - 3 rolls, soup, and salad for around $15. Take out is perfect if you’re on the go - overall, great family-run business.

Sushi chefs dont wear masks! Do not order from this place while the danger of COVID-19 exists

Sushi had way too much (overcooked) rice and the tuna in spicy tuna roll was loaded with mayo. Mushy and fishy. Beef terriyaki was like over cooked pot roast. Won’t be back.

Super attentive staff, friendly and welcoming... Very nice looking fish and the rolls I had were very flavorful. It was a little late when I came here but I was surprised to find it not busy...you can't go wrong if you are looking for this type of food. Great quality, very reasonable prices and where I can't speak much to it, the wine list looked very good. If I come back to the area, I will definitely be back!

Best fresh sushi on the east side of town

A great restaurant for its superior quality of food, paired with a great ambiance and service. The sushi is quite fresh and very reasonably priced. I would recommend this place for a quick lunch with a friend, or a very nice and intimate first date.

Great sushi place. Whenever I go there fish is always fresh, and you get your food pretty fast. Often they have specialties such as uni, toro and etc, which I always get.

Called around 2pm and a very rude woman told me they were closed even though their website states they are open

I would have given this 0 stars if possible. Extremely overpriced for below average food. We ordered the dinner teriyaki and they were smaller than lunch size portions. Along with being expensive and small, our food was burnt. I’d suggest going to a chain restaurant, because the food will be much better for the same price.

We love this place and we both have standard things that we order. We go about once a week if we can and it's a treat every time.

Great Sushi, but it was ruined by the awful service. We were rushed from the minute we sat down and the server was incredibly rude. Would not describe anything when the table had a questions about sauces or combinations. Couldn't get refills, and our dirty appetizer plates sat on the table throughout the entire meal. Took 10 minutes to get the check and a box so we could take our food to-go to try to enjoy it in a better environment. Felt so uncomfortable, like we were bothering them by being there....even though it was noon, the middle of their lunch hours. I recommend TAKE OUT only if you are going to come here.

LOVED IT !! The food is excellent, & service is good. Have now visited both locations, both are equally terrific, & we plan to go back soon.

Best sushi spot around...try as many rolls as you can, they are all delicious. Absolutely must get a bomb roll...it's aptly named! Lobster crab and cucumber, simple, yet elegant

Absolutely fantastic experience. Best sushi I have ever had and presentation was perfect. I chose a X-mas roll (tuna and avocado), Philadelphia roll (salmon and avocado), and octopus sashimi. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality of service and food you get.

Worst sushi in Cleveland. Anyone who knows about sushi would NEVER go to this place. I am not trying to be mean, but how can you drench sushi in sauces. I have lived in Tokyo for more than 10 years, having understood its culture. This place wouldn't last 2 months. Example everything on their menu is covered in sauce, and they don't know how to make sushi with fresh ingredients. I think it is covered in sauce since the seafood is not fresh. Please be careful with this place. In addition they charge you very high prices $$$$. Overall not impressed. The fact that this is still operating is a reflection on Cleveland itself.

I always have the best experience coming here. The service is great not to mention that the sushi is AMAZING! The fish is always fresh and the tempura is perfectly fried. Definitely will be coming back again and again!
